PRACTICE-BASED LEARNING AND IMPROVEMENT
Fellows must be able to investigate and evaluate their patient care practices, appraise and assimilate scientific evidence, and improve their patient care practices.
A. The ability to identify and to acknowledge gaps in personal knowledge and skills in the evaluation of patients, and to act on that knowledge to improve personal performance.
B. The ability to locate, appraise, and assimilate evidence from scientific studies related to his/her patients’ health problems. We expect Fellows to be actively engaged in obtaining and applying evidence to the care of his/her patient's problems.
C. The ability to apply knowledge of study design and statistical methods to the appraisal of clinical studies and other information on diagnostic and therapeutic effectiveness.
D. The ability to use information technology to manage information, access on-line medical information, and support self-education.
E. Consistent attendance at the Section’s required teaching conferences.
