Current Courses offered to the Dartmouth Community:

Sedation Rescue (Adult & Pediatric)

Purpose: This course provides training using a high fidelity computerized mannequin on how to safely provide sedation and analgesia for non-anesthesiology sedation providers. The simulator presents challenging scenarios which allow sedation providers to design appropriate sedation plans, and test their rescue abilities in situation similar to those they may encounter in their own work environment.

  Audience: Non anesthesiology sedation providers

  Length: 2 hours

  Class size: 4 participants

Instructors: Steven Andeweg, MD, George Blike, MD, Joseph Limauro, RRT

Prerequisites: ACLS, Online Introductory Sedation Course

Anesthesia Crisis Resource Management

Purpose: The full day ACRM course is a mandatory element of the PGY3 curriculum intended to help resident physicians improve their crisis management and team building skills. This course utilizes the adult and pediatric METI human patient simulators with real life scenarios.

Audience: Anesthesia Medical students and residents

  Length: 8 hours

  Class size: 4 participants

Instructor: Marc Bertrand, MD, Steven Andeweg, MD, George Blike, MD

Prerequisites: Clinical Anesthesia Year 2 residents or greater

ACLS Advanced

Purpose: To supplement ACLS training with high fidelity simulation opportunities to practice skills and team behaviors.

  Audience: Code team members

  Length: 2 hours

  Class size: 8 participants

Instructor: Marc Bertrand, MD, Joseph Limauro, RRT

  Prerequisites: ACLS Basic

PALS Advanced

Purpose: To supplement PALS training with high fidelity simulation opportunities to practice skills and team behaviors.

  Audience: Pediatric code team members

  Length: 2 hours

  Class size: 8 participants

Instructor: Joseph Limauro, RRT, George Blike, MD, Joseph Cravero, MD

  Prerequisites: PALS Basic

Fundamentals of Airway Management I

Purpose: To supplement BLS airway management training with high fidelity practice opportunity.

Audience: All types of clinicians (nursing medical, allied health) that are required to have basic airway management skills.
