Goal

The goal of the Simulation Center at DHMC is to focus learning experiences linked to clinical needs through two initiatives: Technical skill training and improvement in communication/group dynamics.

Mission
To advance the safety and reliability of patient care locally, regionally and nationally by developing, implementing, and evaluating experiential curricula for individuals working in healthcare and multidisciplinary teams.

How
  Offering different types of simulation:
 
- Task Training
- Crew resource management
- High-tech mannequins
- Standardized patients
- High performing teams
    Realism in problem-based instruction
  Ability to tailor scenarios to each participant's educational level
    Error-forgiving clinical experience, enhancing patient safety when residents and fellows see their first patients or experience their first uncommon or stressful situations

Leadership in "Crisis Resource Management"
    Consistency with reproducible scenarios that lead to standardized training

     
    Supervised instruction in life-threatening events management
